MS Word, Copyright, Twitter

A great majority of my experience working with MS Word as a student has come from writing essay. Many times my previous teachers have struggled to read the handwriting of my peers and I and as a result, asked us  to type our essays into MS Word. Word processing on MS Word is fairly simple, and I cannot recall a time where i struggled to complete my given task. My past teachers have used MS Word to type directions for assignments that were simple to read and understand. Although I have not come across any new ideas on how to use MS Word as a teacher, I do plan on incorporating it in a similar fashion as my past teachers did.

The concept of plagiarism was foreign to me until middle school where I was able to grasp the seriousness of it. I have not intentionally plagiarized during my time in school, however, I have seen the consequences of it through the experiences of others. As a teacher, I will stress the idea of giving credit to previous researchers if their idea is used. Furthermore, I will ask my students to further elaborate on past ideas with their own originality and creativity. As a teacher, I will avoid copying huge texts from textbooks unless it is available for fair use.

As shocking as it may seem, I have not used Twitter prior to my enrollment in this court. I do have knowledge of how the social media forum works however. I recognized how effective Twitter can be in alerting large groups, quickly, in short and concise rhetoric.  As a future educator, I would be open to creating a Twitter feed for my students where we can share ideas, pictures, and short post that encourage learning inside and outside of the classroom.
